A Picture of a Flower

1.
This song goes from 5/4 to 3/4. Pretty cool.
2.
Screw Up 02:22
The first song I've ever written in Locrian mode, though I did cheat with the bass line. Oh well.
3.
My girlfriend said this sounded kind of like a Chrono Trigger song.
4.
Why is it called that? It's just something that popped in my head. It sounds like something from a DOS game I guess.
5.
For several years I've had the idea of making a song, then making a vaporwave/chopped and screwed remix of it, and releasing that as the definitive version of the song. Though I've been making attempts at this since "The Grass [etc.]" none have really captured what I;m trying to accomplish until this. It's a proof of concept more than anything, but I think it sounds cool.

Outro 02:16
Like November 30th and November 1st from, "I, The Beach", Outro is a remix of what was originally the opener, a song called Intro. I realized that song sucked, but this one was pretty good, so it stayed on. It's the only song on here with "vocals" (heavily edited audio of me talking). The buzzing sound comes from the General MIDI Jazz Guitar (or at least the version I have) playing a note higher than it's supposed to, so it glitches out.
7.
Monster 02:11
The first song created for this project. It was made to be a simulacrum of a rock song using digital instruments, and I think it accomplishes that pretty well. It's also slightly sped up from it's original version, in the key of D instead of C, I think it sounds much better this way. From the moment I finished it, I knew it had to be the closer.

about

An EP made using the General MIDI soundfont. Written and recorded* from 11/16/23 to 1/30/24.

*Though not recorded in the traditional sense, I do have to play back and record every electronic song I make since I only have the trial version of Ableton Live 10, which doesn't allow exporting.

The simulacrum is never what hides the truth - it is truth that hides the fact that there is none. The simulacrum is true.
